Rd 11 U13.1 v Albion Park

We went into the game a bit desperate for the win. AP were in 4th spot and we were 4 points behind them, a great opportunity to close the gap and get within striking distance. The way the draw has been set up we are also due to play them again before the season ends. Most of the games in the league are going as expected so a loss would most likely see our finals hopes slip away, even though the season is only half over.

Rd 11 U11.3 v Dapto

Contrary to some of the post-match comments Russell Vale did not play badly, in fact they dominated the game from start to finish and created lots of chances. The last time we played Dapto the Cobras scored 11 goals but as I explained to the players before the game no two matches are the same and don’t take anything for granted.

Unfortunately there was no football played over the weekend due to the wet weather and the entire round was cancelled. For Competition Teams that means there will be no make-up games to be played. For parents and players it means we will be all refreshed and ready for action this weekend in round 11!

Matilda’s Clinic

To coincide with the International Women’s match between the Matildas and the New Zealand Football Ferns, the Matildas will be running a clinic on Saturday June 23 at JJ Kelly Park scheduled for 2.30pm. The clinic is open to all Junior Girls. Only 150 participants will be accepted. To sign up the player has to notify their respective club secretary who will then notify the office.

Round 10 Newsletter

better late than never!!!

NEWSLETTER ROUND 10

It was great to see all our Competition teams do well on the weekend. The under 13’s Boys and girls teams both achieved important victories on Friday night at home. And our 11.4’s Team had a great win against Bulli away on Saturday morning. All Teams scored 1-0 victories. Our undefeated under 11.3s team kept their winning run in tact with another comprehensive victory over Balgownie. And finally our under 15girls were unlucky against Dapto who are running second on the ladder, going down 3-0.

TRIVIA NIGHT 21st JULY

When:    Saturday 21st July 2012     

Where:  Woonona Bowling Club (Greta st. Woonona)

Time:      Kick-off is 7.30pm

Dress:     R and/or V themed dress up

(Prizes for best dressed handed out on the night!!!)  

Cost:       $10.00 per person

Payment: To be paid at canteen on game days. Payments preferably made in tables (10 people per table). Also a list of people on table is to be handed in with payment. 

So start organising a table and reading up on all those trivia questions in preparation for the big night!

Round 10 games cancelled

Round 10 games this weekend (16th and 17th) have been cancelled as a number of grounds have been closed by council. This means all comp teams that were scheduled to play will receive 1 comp point for a draw. There will be NO rescheduled games for this round.

Girl’s School holiday clinic

This July School Holidays Sport and Recreation in partnership with the Illawarra Stingrays Women’s Premier League Team will again be hosting a Girls Football School Holiday Clinic. We are excited to announce that this holidays the clinic will be held over two days at JJ Kelly Park (Outer Fields), Wollongong on Monday 2nd July and Tuesday 3rd July 2012 from 9:30am to 12:00pm each day. All coaching will be provided by current players of the Illawarra Stingrays Women’s Premier League team. Please find attached to this email a flyer and enrolment form.
