March Newsletter & next Club Meeting

Hi All,

Michael has asked me to publish the RVJFC March Newsletter. Could you please ensure all your parents receive this important piece of club information.

Further, our next club meeting will be on Tuesday 10th April 7pm at WBRSL club. Attendance by all club members is welcome. Any item that a member wishes to be placed on the agenda needs to be forwarded to me by 5pm April 5th. If this also could be communicated to your parents that would be appreciated.

I have a district meeting on Tuesday 3rd April. I am assuming that at this meeting all the details for season 2012 will be made available and discussed. This will certainly be a major agenda item for the 10th April, along with Luke Kerr Gala Day (Sun May 6) and the Commencement of the formation of Issue Resolution Procedures within RVJFC.

Barefoot Bowls

Hiya All,

Just would like to take this opportunity to say thank everyone for supporting a business that supports our children with sponsorship.

Russell Vale Football Club should be proud to have a great supporting bunch of parents & players that across all teams that mix really well together for a fun afternoon.

I think the afternoon went off just nicely and by the look of everyone they were all having fun.( except me as my bowl wouldn’t stay out of the gutter!!! nothing new there really !!)

The company was great, the bowling fun, the food nice, & the beer was cold!!

Thanks to those who stayed behind to help me clean up so I got my bond back!!

Well done thanks again for being a great group of people

Cheers Renae Walker

U11.3 Trial No 1 v Corrimal

Hi Guys,

I know you should never read too much into a friendly (trial game) but I believe last Friday’s 4-2 win away to Corrimal is a good example of how far the players have come in the past year. Last season Corrimal won the League and Grand Final beating us in a friendly, two league games and a Semi Final along the way. We recently turned them over 4-3 in the Grand Final of 5 a side comp and now we have beat them on their own ground.

Admittedly we started the game off very rusty and gifted them a 2-0 HT lead but the Cobras more than made up for it in the second half. Goals from Ethan Larnach, Harrison Benn & a brace from Jordan Errington finished the game off in style. I always emphasise to the kids that it’s their performance not the result that matters and the way they played especially in the second half bodes well for the 2012 season. Brody Armour and Harrison Benn were making their debut for the A’s and both looked very comfortable in the side.

On a personal note it was very pleasing after the game to hear the Corrimal Coaching staff saying they wished their players could play pass & move as good as Russell Vale and remember they are a Division II side. Let’s not get carried away the players still have a long way to go but at least they are on the right track.

Just a reminder we have a top NSW Coach taking the lads for a training session tonight, so even I might learn something.
