A few training sessions have now passed and with the Season fast approaching Mark and I thought we would put out some details of our Teams plans for the next few weeks in the lead up to the Competition.
Firstly Mark and I have decided that he will coach the Team and I will assist with training and manage the side. Mark has got some great ideas on how to improve the Girls soccer skills and at the same time have some fun as well. Already after 2 training sessions the girls are showing some good early signs and it will be great to watch their development as the year progresses.
We will continue to train on Thursday nights up to the start of the Competition (including the Thursday before Easter if most players are available) between 6-7.30pm and would also like to include a few additional sessions during this time.
The additional sessions we would like to do are:
* Sunday 21st March at Cawley Park from 9.00am- 10.30am
* Tuesday 23rd March at Cawley Park 6.00pm- 7.00pm for a “trial” against our under 11 Boys Team.
With the Sunday morning session, we would like to work on positioning and set plays and then hopefully put this into practice on the Tuesday night against the under 11 boys.
At the moment, the Tuesday night “trial” against the under 11′s Boys is the only trial that we have organised so it would be great if everyone can make it on this date, however I do understand that there other commitments to attend to. If this date isnt suitable please let us know on Thursday night at training and we can look at other possibilities.
In regards to player recruitment we are still on the lookout for another 3-4 players to ensure we start the year out with a full squad. We will be able to use players from the under 11 girls Team but we would much prefer to have 14 girls to start the year and then only rely on the 11′s for emergencies. Again if anyone knows of anyone that is keen, have them contact myself and I will organise their registration with the Club.

Lastly, the Club has put together a list of official Club merchandise for you to have a look at, I have attached it to this email and ill have order forms at training on Thursday. There is some great gear to choose from and all reasonably priced!!

Hi guys,
The committee is over the moon about being able to put the U13 girl’s side together. Thanks for bringing the girls along to our club, especially those that haven’t played before.
To get the ball rolling could we meet down at the ground, Cawley Park, on Sunday 7th March at 9.30am. Please bring boots/ shin pads etc for a run around. Michael Benn will be there and use his supreme organisational skill to get everything, well, organised.
In the meantime we still need to finalise a few registrations. Please get the girls signed up ASAP. We also need a couple of extras. We need another 3 to have 2 reserves which would be great. Some of the U11 girls will be able to back up for you if required (only those that turn 11 this year, not the “young-uns”) but you won’t want to be relying on them all year. I have sent out e-mails to the other clubs in the area who may have girls that couldn’t form a team. Hopefully something will come out of that. For registrations contact Andrew Hardy on 42 854095 after 5:30pm.
I’m also using the web site to spread information www.rvjfc.com.au . There is a section for each team, so I’ll put a copy of this e-mail there. If you would like to know how to update the info for your team (notices and match reports) then let me know and I’ll set you up so you can look after this yourself!
