U11 Trial v Bellambi

The kids had a great run around on Saturday. We played Bellambi last year in the grading rounds. They were put in div 4 last year and are steeping up to div 3. We played div 3 and are stepping up to viv 2. All the kids played well, although the goal keepers weren’t tested too often. Braeden did make a good save in the first half. Sam M spent most of the 2nd half standing on teh 1/2 way line!

In the first half the back line consisted of Thomas K and Dean in the middle, with Jasmin and Jacob looking after the sides. Anone that came their way were turned around and sent packing pretty quickly. Reuben, Matty D and Wil patrolled the middle and Sam , Sam L, and Ryan created plenty of chances up front. I’m told Sam M scored 4 and Sam L scored 2 goals each. I’m sure someone else put a couple away as well.

The team was swapped around at 1/2 time and we unleashed Dean, Mark, and Jas onto the goal mouth and another 4 or so goals were put into the net. I’ll find out who scored all the goals and make sure everyone gets a mention, although as we all know it was a team effort.
Thanks to the parents who showed up and helped out around the grounds. As the only comp team playing on a Saturday morning we will need to get up there and do a bit more than our fair share.

Thanks again

Garry

U9 and 11 trials – A great start to the season

The U9 Roo Ball teams and the U11 boys played trial matches against Bulli and Bellambi on Saturday. The Canteen was open and everything ran incredibally smoothly for the first main event of the season. Thanks to Kerrie for the work she has done getting the canteen stocked and ready, and to the coaches, Managers and the parent helpers who set the grounds up and we even had the BBQ pumping. We look forward to seeing you all when the season proper starts.

Here’s a link to the U11 match report (I hope) U11 match report
it works!

Grounds are marked up!

A massive thanks to Troy Bray and his helpers for marking out the Main field, Roo Ball field and SSG fields. They look fantasic. It was a massive task and we should all buy him a beer or two.

Thanks for the hard work Troy!!!!

Jasmin Wilson makes the PSSA Zone Schoolgirl’s Team

Congratulations to one of our U11 players, Jasmin Wilson, for making the U11 Primary School Zone Team. Jasmin has been with Russell Vale for the past 2 years in our U9 and U10 team.  Jas is a tireless player who doesn’t mixing it up with the boys and putting in the hard yards, and many a hard tackle. She’s also a lovely girl and we wish her all the best in the start of her representative career! Well done!

Game on! Trial games this Saturday

The U11 mixed team will be having a trial game this Saturday on the main field against Bellambi and the U9s will be playing on the back field against Bulli. Thanks to the parents for supporting this initiative so early in the season. C U there!

U11mixed v U13 girls

Thanks to the kids and parents who turned out for our muck around game this afternoon. It was a great way to get some “match practice” for the kids and a great social event as well.

A special thanks to our two new referees, Nathan and Hayden, and for coming along and getting a bit of experience for themselves, as well as helping out the kids.
